I swear there’s some sort of time sucking vortex in my computer room which gets activated when I get on Ravelry. I know I haven’t been sitting here that long. Still having some depression issues as the trace amounts of serotonin in my brain are laughing at the tiny amounts of Zoloft slowly being reintroduced. I am getting off the damn computer now and going to knit some more on my socks. Yeah. :)

I’m sick of being sick. After riding around with my mom today watching her try to buy out the craft stores, on the way home I felt the sudden need to pull over. In case anyone is interested in what I had for lunch, it’s on the shoulder of westbound I-240 just after the Lamar/HWY 78 exit. I am so sexy. Yes, indeedy, I know you wanna hang out with me because I am Just. That. Cool.
Just when I find a decent doctor…

…the admin staff are feckin rude. We’ve been trying to get things worked out between HealthQuest and United Behavioral Health for almost a year now. It seems that, for whatever reason, when HQ sends through an insurance claim as “Dr. Rao,” it appears as out of network and is only paid as such. When it gets sent through as “HealthQuest,” it is in network and fully paid. UBH told me that the last time I called, said they would refile the claims correctly, and asked me to pass it along to HQ. I did, they said ok, we all bowed to our partners and do-si-do’ed and called everything done.
Today we get there, and are told we have a balance of some-odd. Insert sigh here. Rehash, restate, take one down and pass it around. Snatcherella Office Lady starts going off about how The Gov’ment™ streamlined something or other and it’s illegal for them to change The Form™ blah blah blah.
It occurs to me right about here that I am too sick to dazzle you with my usual snark and sarcasm. I’ll just sum up by saying Snatcherella Office Lady was an überbitch, we hates it, it burns us, and it’s sad that I’m going to have to find a new doctor b/c my current one’s clerical staff stresses me out! Never had this problem at Florida Psychiatric. grumble grumble

Now I know why I had a child. Did I want to pass on my genetic code for years? Share the wonder of life? See the joy on the face of one I love as I teach him about the world?
No. I did it so he could pick up every weird virus at daycare, lovingly cough into my face, and pass it along to me. Awwwww, he knows how to share.

Just in case you’re interested: don’t be. Foul, hideous, disgusting stuff. Gavin won’t even drink it, and he’ll drink almost anything.
Yeah

Yeah, I’m so not good at blogging anymore. This is what happens when I take a three year hiatus! Maybe I just need to figure out how to post from my phone. I tend to think of obnoxious things to say while I’m driving and watching the idiots in front of me. Moron drivers certainly give me things to think about.

I voted today. Go me. I wasn’t aware the Republicans were even having a primary, considering McCain essentially has the nomination already. When I walked in the door, though, there were staffers sitting at a table clearly marked Republican. Meh. I noticed something, and I’m not sure if it’s relevant or just one of those things that happened to catch my eye. Republican table, staffed by (imho) excessively well dressed upper middle class white ladies. Democratic table, staffed by normal business dress elderly black ladies. And then, just to remind us that it’s Mississippi, three old white guys in overalls sitting on a couch eating nabs. That’s cheese and crackers to those outside the state lines.
Listening to CNN, I keep hearing that voter turnout today is light to moderate. I voted at 1:45 this afternoon, and was ballot number 380. *sigh* Well, maybe people will be coming by after work. Or maybe all 379 people before me were Democrats, and the Republicans are staying home.

Snow guitarist?, originally uploaded by Crankydragon. The snow was fun and entertaining earlier today. Now it’s pretty, but I’m wondering how much of the stuff we’re going to have dropped on us. Meanwhile, our snow dude has been blown over by the wind.
