I work with a girl who is pretty sheltered. Home schooled for the ultra religious reason, has five or six brothers and sisters, father’s a preacher, wants to have natural childbirth, doesn’t believe in getting vaccinations, etc etc. She doesn’t seem to have ever developed a filter for what comes out of her mouth simply because it doesn’t occur to her that it isn’t appropriate. She’s outed me to random customers (both religion and sexuality), and told someone once she reminded her of Mrs. Doubtfire without understanding she just said the woman looked like a middle-aged man in drag. Her most recent:
“Nessa, I like your hair. Well, I liked it earlier. It was poofy. Now it’s flat.”
Wow. Thanks.

Wouldn’t it be lack of religion? Or are you a closet Catholic?

I think the next time she spouts about home school or what not, you should ask about what they teach that makes them so much better.
After a minute or two of her listing, you should say, “Oh, now THAT explains it! They don’t teach Tact.”
lol, doesn’t believe in getting vaccinations. That’s fun.
She’ll think it’s really fun when her children have the measles.
Those aren’t fun.
Or the shingles.
Those aren’t either.
I’m lucky my mother let me live to see 28.
And. It’s always easy to believe in natural childbirth before you have children.

Lol, Leslie. Yep that’s me, the closet Catholic. ;) And Lish, this girl is just nuts. Won’t even take a tylenol for a headache. Won’t vaccinate her animals. Kooky.

hmm. won’t vaccinate her animals.
Good to know that her religion allows her to BREAK THE LAW.
Ironically enough, one of the biggest points of the Christian faith is that you have to follow the laws of the land you live in. (rather convenient for the Constantine and his Bible ‘copy folk’ don’t you think?)
So. Apparently she’s part of the super literal church who really believes that the whole glass house folks really do like to throw actual stones.
Good to know.
