November and January can’t come soon enough

I swear, the more I read about Sarah Palin the more she freaks me out. Anti-choice, anti any intelligent sex ed (and look how well that worked out for her daughter), wants to teach creationism in schools. Great, so the Republicans want us to have a half dead guy in office with a nutcase next in line. I’m so ready for this shit to be over. My stress levels can’t take much more.

Doing my part to keep the political process going

I voted today. Go me. I wasn’t aware the Republicans were even having a primary, considering McCain essentially has the nomination already. When I walked in the door, though, there were staffers sitting at a table clearly marked Republican. Meh. I noticed something, and I’m not sure if it’s relevant or just one of those things that happened to catch my eye. Republican table, staffed by (imho) excessively well dressed upper middle class white ladies. Democratic table, staffed by normal business dress elderly black ladies. And then, just to remind us that it’s Mississippi, three old white guys in overalls sitting on a couch eating nabs. That’s cheese and crackers to those outside the state lines.

Listening to CNN, I keep hearing that voter turnout today is light to moderate. I voted at 1:45 this afternoon, and was ballot number 380. *sigh* Well, maybe people will be coming by after work. Or maybe all 379 people before me were Democrats, and the Republicans are staying home.
